I’ve been there.
That’s why I’m here.
Hello brilliant minds, I’m Stefanie.
I’m an employment lawyer and the founder of Stefanie Costi & Associates. Helping people through workplace issues and get back to believing in themselves is my happy place.
When I first started my legal career, I was bullied and harassed at work. It was an experience that shattered my confidence, caused me hypervigilance and left me with post-traumatic stress disorder.
Instead of staying silent, I decided to share my story to LinkedIn in the hope that it would help one person. That post reached over one million people around the world and thousands of people wrote to me and said, “Me too, me too, me too”.
I quickly realised how many people globally were going through the same thing and suffering in silence, and I wanted to make a difference. Since then, my work has grown into supporting people navigating toxic workplaces and helping organisations understand how to prevent them.
In 2026, I founded Stefanie Costi & Associates, where I help people with employment issues, whether they need legal advice and representation in courts, tribunals or commissions, workplace venting, or someone in their corner at a difficult disciplinary meeting. I also work with organisations to deliver workplace training and speak at events.
What this means for you
If something has gone wrong at work, you’re not dealing with it alone.
You’re not getting a lawyer who has only read about this in books. You’re getting someone who has lived it, understands it, and knows how quickly things can escalate if it is not handled properly.
That changes how I approach your matter, the advice you receive, and the outcome we work towards together.
This isn’t just work to me.
It’s about making sure you’re heard, protected, and clear on where you stand so you can make the right decisions at the right time.
My work goes beyond legal advice
Over the years, I have spoken and presented at organisations and events including TEDx Cooks Hill, New York University, the Legal Up (InfoTrack) International Conference, Sydney Metro, Angle Auto Finance, the Managing Partners Forum - Boutique Firms, Law Ninjas The NextGen GC Summit, the National Press Club of Australia, the University of Technology Sydney, Baker McKenzie and Canva.
My opinion and expertise have been sought after by ABC News, ABC Radio (Adelaide), The Sydney Morning Herald,The Project, The Australian Financial Review, 3AW, news.com.au, The Law Society Journal, Business Insider, Mamamia and Future Women.
I have also collaborated with Members of Parliament to effect change in work, health and safety in New South Wales. My activism was highlighted in a speech by the Honourable Mark Buttigieg MLC in the Legislative Council of NSW in March 2024.
